Stress is a modern epidemic, and it leads to mental and physical ills.
But evangelist Joyce Meyer offers one way to fight stress.
“The good news is God has given us the answer for worry and stress. What’s his prescription? Trust,” Meyer writers in the Christian Post.
That answer is in Proverbs 3:5, she says:
“Lean on, trust in, and be confident in the Lord with all your heart and mind and do not rely on your own insight or understanding.”
Meyer says, “Trusting God is the greatest stress reliever in the world, and our minds play an important role in the process.”
The secret, she writes, is to find comfort in “positive, faith-filled words from God’s word” rather than endlessly replaying in our mind all the things we’re worried about.
“The truth is God knew about your problem before you ever got it, and He already has a plan for your solution,” Meyer writes. “In the meantime, you can choose to enjoy your life while you wait. “
