How to be prepared — for whatever

It’s a dangerous world, and Lori Bakker, wife of evangelist Jim Bakker, says one thing that makes her feel more secure is the emergency preparation items she packs in her car.

“For me, the security in knowing that my family is prepared for the unexpected is worth a little extra thought and just a little time,” she writes in her blog.

What’s in her trunk? Lots of the usual things — a spare tire, a jack, jumper cables, a tire inflator and sealer.

But here are a few things you might not have thought of that she lists:

  • Duct Tape and WD-40
  • High Energy Bars
  • Old-fashioned paper maps, to be prepared in case there is no cell phone service.
  • Emergency money
